Sylva Mae WHITESIDE

WHITESIDE, Sylva Mae Passed away peacefully at Hilltop Manor, Cambridge on Monday, January 7, 2013 with her family at her side. Sylva was born in Tuberose SK, and is the daughter of the late Noble and Mae Harper. Loving wife of 58 years to the late Richard Whiteside (2010). Much loved mother of Paul (Cathy) Whiteside of Cambridge, David Whiteside of Vancouver B.C., Maureen (Carm) Morra of Cambridge and Dan Whiteside of Guelph. Cherished grandmother of Krista and Alexis Whiteside of Vancouver B.C., John, Joseph and Madeline Whiteside, Rachael and Paul Morra all of Cambridge. Survived by her brother Stan Harper and his wife Shirley of Etobicoke and by brother-in-law Jim Mayes of Guelph. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Sylva was a teacher for many years in Guelph elementary schools, loved music and was a wonderful pianist. Mom, thank you for your love, guidance and support throughout our lives. We will miss your smile, laugh and sweet gentle nature. We will love you forever. A special thanks to the staff of Hilltop Manor for the tender, loving care of our mother over the past two years. Sylva's family will receive friends and relatives at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge on Friday, January 11th from 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Knox Preston Presbyterian Church, 132 Argyle Street, Cambridge (Preston) on Saturday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
