Jose Braga FIGUEIREDO

FIGUEIREDO, Jose Braga Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Tuesday January 8, 2013 at age 82. Born in Santa Maria Azores, Jose was the son of the late Manuel and Ana Figueiredo. He was a loving husband to the late Gloria (nee Luis) who passed away in 1990 and is survived by his children, Tony (Linda), Anna (Ed Andrade), Jeannie Bairos, George (Mary Lou) and Jaime. Special grandfather to Melissa (Scott), Jordan (Kayla), Sarah (Gary), Tracy (Anthony), Tyler, Gloria, Kyle, Jeffrey, Ryan and Danielle. Extra special great grandfather to Dominic and Owen. Jose was brother to the late Antonio, the late Joao (Rosa) and is survived by Manuel (Ermelinda),Maria (late Manuel), Bernardino (Eliza), Angelo (Maria), Jaime ( Livramento), Evaristo (Fatima) and Ines (Manuel). He will be missed by his late wife's family and many nieces and nephews. Jose immigrated to Canada in 1957, sponsored his siblings and extended family to come and build a better life in a country where he admired the political system and all its freedoms. He was a "Habs" fan for as long as anyone can remember. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St, Cambridge where family will receive friends on Friday January 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 53 Wellington St, Cambridge on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount View Cemetery. Many thanks to the palliative care staff of Cambridge Memorial Hospital and Lisaard House for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital or Lisaard House.
