CAMPLING, Cynthia Gayle On May 20, 2014, Cynthia, only child of Erie Gilmore (1919-1982), died at Juravinski Hospital after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Frederic, children Jesse and Emily, daughter-in-law Cheryl Anderson, son-in-law Jarno van der Kolk, and granddaughter Hannah. Cynthia will be missed also by many relatives and friends in Canada, the United States and the Netherlands, who supported her in her struggle with Multiple System Atrophy, both at home and in hospital. From 1975 to 2013, Cynthia practised law to the highest standards in Toronto and Hamilton. She grew up in Kingston, Ontario, where her volunteer work as a hospital "candy striper" presaged a life dedicated to others. Her family thanks those who treated and supported her in her illness, including the staff at the Juravinski and Toronto Western Hospitals (where Cynthia was a patient of the Morton and Gloria Shulman Movement Disorders Centre), Dr. J.E. Paulseth, the Stonechurch Family Health Centre, and many home healthcare and personal support workers. Private burial Monday, May 26th, will be followed by a visitation Tuesday, May 27th, 4 to 8 p.m., at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME , 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON. On Sunday, August 3, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., there will be a memorial gathering at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, 123 King Street West, Hamilton.
