ALBRIGHT, W. Paul 1922 - 2014 Of West Montrose, died peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2014, in his 93rd year. Survived by his sister, Doreen of Owen Sound. Predeceased by his wife, Priscilla (nee Yantha, d. 2012), his parents Wilfred and Beatrice and his sister Norma. Remembered fondly by the Conrad family of Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto and Napanee, the Thibaudeau family of Kitchener as well as Joan and Marc Kilgour of Kitchener. Paul was Professor Emeritus at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo where he taught in the School of Business from 1964 to 1988. He was a long-time member of the university senate and a past-president of the WLU Faculty Association. Paul was the author of Collective Bargaining: A Canadian Simulation (1973) and The Impact of Technology on the Manpower Needs of the Canadian Piping Industry in the 1970s (1971). He received his BA and MBA from McMaster University, and his PhD in Business Administration from SUNY Buffalo in 1970. Prior to his academic career, he was the Personnel Officer at Studebaker of Canada from 1952 to 1963. Paul was well-known in antique circles across Ontario, where he and Priscilla shared their passion for artifacts of bygone eras with many friends. Paul's particular interests included primitive tools and scientific instruments. In his retirement, Paul also dedicated many hours to the exploration of medical ethics, as a member of the Ethics Committee at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener. Throughout his life, Paul used his incisive mind to debate current issues and to reflect on the foundations of civilized society. At the heart of things, he insisted that questions were more important than answers. He spent his life learning to ask the right ones, and challenged those around him - students, colleagues, and friends - to do the same. Cremation has taken place. Donations to Doctors Without Borders at www.doctorswithoutborders.com would be appreciated by his family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Erb & Good Funeral Home , Waterloo, 519-745-8445. www.erbgood.com
