Walter GARDNER  and
Hilda GARDNER

GARDNER, Walter and Hilda (nee Readyhough) Walter (February 16, 1920 - November 18, 2015); and Hilda (April 16, 1918 - October 6, 2015). Passed away peacefully at Baywoods Place six weeks apart and after 74 years of marriage. Walt and Hilda came to Canada in the early 50s from Manchester England and lived for over 60 years on Brucedale Avenue. Walt worked at Stelco until his retirement and was an avid fan of Manchester United. Hilda cared for her home, her daughter and her garden. They were a fixture on the street and within the family where stories of Hilda's feisty nature are legend. Walt and Hilda lost their only child, Julia, in December 2010. Left to remember them is their grandson Sean Davidson and his wife Dilys Haner, son-in-law Rick Davidson and members of the Readyhough and Urech families. The family would like to thank the Best Care Agency who offered the support necessary to keep this couple in their home as long as possible and the staff of Baywoods Place who made their final months comfortable. In keeping with the wishes of this couple there will be no funeral service.
