JUSKEVICIUS, Pranas On Wednesday, February 10, 2016 my father Pranas Juskevicius' journey on this earth came to an end. He was 93 years old. Born in Lithuanian, my dad came to Canada after WWII. His first Canadian home was Timmins, where he logged in the area's Bush Camps. He moved to Hamilton after having received a letter from a friend who told him of the job openings in Stelco; he worked there until he retired at 62 years old. My dad was a man who worked hard, and cared deeply for his family. He was proud of the house he built, and the fruit and vegetable gardens he maintained. After retiring he took over the role of cooking and spent many happy hours in the kitchen preparing wonderful family meals. He eagerly helped me, my brother, and my cousins with our home renovation projects. He was creative with woodworking and seemed to effortlessly create furniture with nothing more than a mental plan. He is predeceased by my mother Danute who passed away in October of 2010. He leaves behind his two sisters, Terese and Stella and their families, and me, Vilija, and my brother Ed and our immediate families. Cremation will take place this week. Funeral service and interment at St. John's Lithuanian Cemetery will follow at a later date. Anyone wishing to be advised of the service and interment date, please call Vilija at 289-440-7171. Many thanks to the staff of 3 East at St. Peter's Hospital. Not only did you care for and comfort my father, you gave me and my brother peace during his time with you.
