Wayne Michael GARDINER

GARDINER, Wayne Michael Just as the spring garden was reaching its peak, our dear Wayne slipped away, spent from the cancer that ravaged his body. Born May 4, 1946 in Toronto to Sylvia (2015) and Doug (2005) Gardiner, Wayne was a proud and supportive big brother to Glenn (1996), Maureen, Caren, Adrienne and Randy. Growing up in West Hamilton many friendships were formed that remain so today. After Westdale Secondary Wayne began his apprenticeship as an Instrumentation Technician at Stelco. That career spanned 40 years until retirement in 2006 afforded him time to devote to motorcycle trips and touring the bay on "GUL-FIN" out of Macassa Bay Yacht Club. Always remembered by his loving wife, Carole and lives on in their children, Benjamin and Victoria. Wayne was overjoyed this year to welcome a grand-daughter, Gwen, daughter to Rory and Victoria. A fun-loving husband, father, father-in-law, Grampy, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend who taught us how to connect with each other, listen, love and laugh. Bring your best "Wayne stories" to the celebration of life, Bay City Music Hall at Leander, 50 Leander Drive, Hamilton, L8L 8L1 on Monday, June 6th, 3-8 p.m. I will arise and go now, for always night and day I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore; While I [ride on] the roadway or the pavements grey, I hear it in the deep heart's core. - W.B. Yeats
