MACPHERSON, Kenneth Ross Ken's life was measured in moments of beauty -- the beautiful support and love of 53 years of marriage; the beauty of his five children, his four daughters-in-law and one son-in-law and 13 grandchildren; perfect four-part harmony with overtones and undertones ringing true; the beauty of photography, stained glass, fine carpentry; the beauty of a twenty pointer crokinole shot, a perfect draw shot on the bowling green, a well placed shuffleboard disk; the beauty of a tasty barbequed steak, maple syrup on ice cream, a glass of milk and a Dad's oatmeal cookie; and the beauty of a crowd to share it all with. Going out with his Raptors, Ken passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Arleen (nee Devlin) for 53 years and loving father to Andy (Susie Fowler), Ian (Beth Burns), Bruce (Vanessa Slack), David (Sandra Hepditch) and Kate (Steve Trepanier). Grandpa Mac will be sadly missed by Burns, Jacob, Sam, Devlin, Aaron, Quinn, Rory, Alex, Angus, Hudson, Simon, Sabine and Arlen. Ken is survived by his brother Hugh of Burlington, his sister Mary Carss of London, the entire extended Macpherson and Devlin families. Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Marie (nee Bovaird), infant brother Douglas, sister-in-law Barbara Macpherson and brothers-in-law Cliff Carss, Gerry Barrett, Rodney Smith and Ray Crane. Ken's many friendships were nurtured in a variety of organizations, including Lawrence Park Collegiate, Queen's University, Algoma Steel, The Tax Pro's, Lake Muskoka, Lonely Lake, Heritage Greens Lawn Bowling Club, Highland Glen Camera Club, the Twin City Harmonizers, the Mello Men, Royal Assent, Royal Revue, Probus Club, Hardy Hearts, Columbus Boys' Camp, The Ontario Catholic Youth Leadership Camp, Macey's Bay and many others. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to the upper floor gathering space at the Kitchener Market (300 King St. E, Kitchener) on Saturday, June 11 for visitation at 3:00 p.m., a celebration of Ken's life at 5:30 p.m., and a reception to follow.
