Alfred Lawrence DIETRICH

DIETRICH, Alfred Lawrence Passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side at Nithview Community, New Hamburg on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Alf was born 85 years ago in Wilmot Township and was the son of the late Peter and Clara (Hauck) Dietrich. Beloved husband of Loreen (Fritz) Dietrich with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage. Loving father of Gary (Sheilah) Dietrich of Kitchener, Laurie (Steve) Dietrich of St. Agatha, Tony (late Joanne) Dietrich of Kitchener, Betty (Tim) Shantz of St. Agatha, Debb (Todd) Hoffman of Baden and Paula (Tim) Fewkes. Sadly missed by his 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Remembered by his sisters Mary Cremasco, Rita (Vernon) Starra, Carole Paul, Dietrich sisters-in-law Marion, Evelyn, Grace, Gloria also Rita Fritz, Norma Fritz and brother-in-law Neil Beggs. Alf was predeceased by his sister Lorraine, brothers Gordon, Harold, Wilfred, Clare, Carl, Edward, Hubert, Howard, Clayton and Peter. Alf was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church and the Greenwood Rod & Gun Club. Alf worked for J.M. Schneider in Kitchener for over 30 years. He served as a trustee and chairman on the Waterloo Separate School Board and also served on the board of St. Agatha School Sisters of Notre Dame. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow in St. Agatha Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society or St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church.
