Mary Ann Gingrich

GINGRICH, Mary Ann - Peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital on Saturday September 30, 2017 at the age of 75. Beloved wife of Merle. Loving mother of Warren (Lisa). Proud grandmother of Paige, Leah, James, and Cassy, and great grandmother of Sawyer and Sophia. Missed by her sisters Judy Klassen and Cindy Ertel (Rick). Remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends, and her dog Fifi. She was kind at her core. She was our surrogate grandma, our friend and she had the best laugh. Mary Ann will also be missed by V.O.S, The Northumberland Players and the Trinity United Church Choir. She was involved with the VOS Theatre since their inception, appearing in the first show in 1991. This past season she was involved in two of three productions. She ran the props tables, stage managed for the first time in February and danced and sang in the choruses, many with her husband Merle, for 26 years. She appeared in all three VOS productions of White Christmas as a chorus member and Ed Sullivan's secretary. When the spotlight hit her in that black dress with the big pink bow as Ed's Secretary you couldn't help but smile. She really was spectacular. She was always early with a bag of wine gums in hand and quietly went about ensuring that everyone was taken care of. Kindness and fun was not something she worked at; it's who she was. When we think of Mary Ann, we'll see her backstage during the overture of White Christmas, dancing the jitterbug in her silver running shoes sporting a huge smile. We know she's going somewhere playing the spoons, bopping around in a great pair of shoes. She will be missed! The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kwok and the staff in Palliative Care and the I.C.U. at Northumberland Hills Hospital. Donations may be made to Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation, Princess Margaret Hospital or Trinity United Church. Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.
