Eileen Patricia MADREN (nee Treadway) January 29, 1930 - September 25, 2017 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eileen Madren shares the news of her passing on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. Eileen died peacefully with her daughter Sandra and son-in-law, Charles by her side. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Madren (Charles Wiseman), sister Marianne Brackenridge (Ron), and brother Gerald Treadway (Linda). She was predeceased by her beloved husband Harold Madren (November 2011). She will be missed by her grandchildren Kaeley Wiseman and Ryan Wiseman (Danielle Desroches) who took great pride in their Nana's engaged and active lifestyle that included tennis, badminton, pickle ball, lawn and alley bowling and of course, dance. Always adventurous, she joined them without hesitation on all the rides that the CNE and Canada's Wonderland had to offer them as children. As adults, they enjoyed many an after dinner game of Boggle or cards with Nana. What many will remember about Eileen, from her origins in Liverpool, UK to Oakville, Canada, is her passion for dance. From her beginnings as Harold's ballroom partner in England to her tap, clogging, jazz, Irish, Scottish and even Bollywood classes, Eileen practiced diligently as she took great pride in her performances. She had been a member of the Oakville Happy Tappers and the Burlington Footnotes Senior Performance Troupe, which took her to both Germany and Japan for competitions. In more recent years she particularly enjoyed the Scottish Country Dance group. Eileen was also known for her ready laugh that was often aimed at herself, along with her elegant, tasteful sense of style and dress that brought many compliments from friends and strangers alike. Eileen's proficiency in mathematics, after working for years in bookkeeping and accounting, was viewed with awe by her family who always counted on Nana to "do the math" in her head. Eileen lived her full and active life of 87 years her own way - focused on remaining fit, healthy and ever youthful - and determined to persevere throughout the health challenges of the last four years. She was a fighter to the end. She was devoted to her little Shih Tzu Bailey who was a great comfort to her following Harold's passing. She treated him as the little prince he believes himself to be. He is missing her dearly. A kind and gentle person who always had a positive attitude, it is our hope that she is dancing, once again, with Harold. We send her off with much love and admiration. Private interment will take place October 6, 2017. Visitation and small reception will be held at Glen Oaks on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 12-2 p.m.
