Manfred WEGNER

WEGNER, Manfred Passed quietly in the presence of His Lord on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at his home in Port Sydney after a lengthy illness. Born in Germany on November 17, 1937, Manfred immigrated to Canada while a young boy and soon became involved in his own furniture/upholstery business in Toronto, and later in the Muskoka Region. Predeceased by his first wife, AnnaRose (Neubert) in 1998, Manfred is survived by his wife Myra Camilla (nee Ingersol) and three sons: David (Alexis), Raymond (Kim) and Stephen (Lisa) and several grandchildren; Odessa, James, Maisy, Kelsey (Alex), Mitchell; and two great-grandchildren: Olivier and Madison; as well as sisters: Ingrid Bade and Hildegard Hagemann. Manfred has been a member of Pinegrove Church (Bracebridge) for a lengthy period, a member of the Board of Directors, and because of his love for music, spent many years playing the mandolin in the church worship. Furthermore, Manfred has been known for his love of entertaining many guests at barbeques he often hosted at his Port Sydney and Florida residences. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Pinegrove Church, 295 Taylor Road, Bracebridge, with visitation prior at 12 noon. Refreshments to follow service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Listen to Learn (9 Santa's Village Rd., Bracebridge, ON, P1L 1C7), South Muskoka Memorial Hospital or a charity of your choice. The family expresses deep appreciation to the wonderful doctors, nurses and volunteers at SMMH and Closing the Gap, as well as Dr. Holman for such caring attention and superb responsiveness.

May we offer our deepest condolences and prayers for Myra and all the remaining families. We're presently in Seattle, but our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. We would have liked to have been at the visitation. Herma and Tony Petrauskas.
