Joy EADE

EADE, Joy Joy was born into this world on April 20, 1921. She was the second child in a family with two brothers. When she was eight, her beloved father died and her widowed mother struggled and succeeded in providing for her family. Joy said she missed her father's hugs, for her mother didn't hug her. She was sent to Sunday School with her brothers where she probably memorized John 3:16,17. As a young woman she married Bill Flewelling and had five children: Penny, Victoria, Marc, Randy and Richard. These were mostly tumultuous years for her, although her children have fond memories of their mother baking, brailling for CNIB and creating beautiful gardens where they could play, along with a backyard rink their father made. Later the marriage dissolved and at age fifty she went to Humber College, earned a diploma and became the Assistant to the Director of Pharmacy at Etobicoke General Hospital. At retirement she met and married Ken Eade (who predeceased her by about two weeks). Now they were blessed as they enjoyed their blended family and retirement activities. I (her daughter) believe that John 3:16,17 took on a new personal meaning recently when Joy repented and trusted in Jesus as Lord and Saviour and at last she felt God's love and peace in her heart. She will be missed by her blended family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as her friends. Her long life bringing "joy" to many is celebrated. Thank you, God, for Your love and mercy. Joy passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017. In keeping with her wishes, Joy's remains have been bequeathed to the Human Anatomy Program at the University of Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington, 831 Frederick St., Kitchener, ON N2B 2B4, (519-742-1422). Arrangements entrusted to Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900). Online condolences at www.westmountfuneralchapel.com
