(Bud) Eward Tripp

(Bud) Eward McKinley Tripp June 16,1927 ~ November 6, 2018 Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at PRHC in Peterborough in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Helen Lock (1923-2008). Father of Marlene, Brenda, Ken, Judy and Keith. Father-in-law to Gord, Paul, Joe (all deceased) and Sherry. Grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Son of Archie and Mary Tripp and brother to 13 siblings all deceased, Herb (Dot), Irene, Elmer, Myrtle (Bruce) Steven Archie, Rod (Beryl) Tom (Jerry) Dora (Cam), Edna, Moss, Ruby (Denny) Steve (Phil) and Betty. Dearly missed as a Brother-in-law to Goldie and Millie Lock. Loved and very deeply missed by many nieces and nephews. A longtime friend to Wilf Peck as they shared many stories of their trucking days and his daughter Tracey. Bud was a veteran who served in the Second World War as a Merchant Marine. Retired as a truck driver from Smith Transport and CP Express after 38 years. His passion was farming with a variety of animals (like Old McDonald's Farm) when his children were young. Then later on in his life his pride and joy was raising limousin cattle and selling bulls in the Omemee area. Those who knew him loved and respected him for his strong drive to keep family together. He had an incredible memory for dates of family details, always telling stories with great humor. Funeral services were held at Comstock's Funeral Home in Peterborough on November 9, 2018 and interment was at Emily Cemetery. Gratitude and appreciation for all the staff and residents at Applewood Retirement Home who were so kind and compassionate, so giving of their time to our Father, he enjoyed joking and having fun with so many there. To the incredible staff at PRHC in the Palliative Care Unit, it takes a special kind of person to work in this area and you far exceeded everything we could possibly ask for. Very attentive and respectful, full of dedicated heart warming care for our Father. Donations to the Omemee Legion or the Alzheimer Association (in memory of our Mother) would be very much appreciated by the family.
