Horst JUNG Obituary

JUNG, Horst 1930 - 2019 Born and raised in Germany, the son of Hans and Frieda Jung, Horst Lothar Jung passed away peacefully in the beautiful home which he built, surrounded by his family on December 30, 2018. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Anneliese (Vetter) Jung of 63 years. Lovingly remembered and cherished by his daughters, Elizabeth and her husband Daniel Platt; and Barbara and her husband Roland Krueger. As well as grandchildren, Alex and Ben, who shared a love of many things, including soccer, with Opa. He will be greatly missed by his brother, Gerhard, and the entire Vetter family. Predeceased by his sister, Maryanne. Horst became a Möbelschreiner in Germany before immigrating to Canada with Anne in 1954. In 1969 he joined Mohawk College, where he proudly taught the carpentry trade to apprentices for 23 years and was considered one of the most influential contributors to the education of carpenters in the Southern Ontario construction industry. Horst and Anne spent several years building their ""German style"" home in Campbellville, surrounded by nature, where they enjoyed living for the past 45 years. They enjoyed sharing their home with many friends, relatives and guests from Germany over the years. A very special thank you goes out to Wendy and Ida at Georgetown Hospital, and to the entire Palliative Homecare Team. The family is extremely grateful to Michelle, Debbie, Hortence and all of the PSWs that helped to make Horst feel so comfortable at home. Special thanks to nurse Jericho who was there at the beginning and the end. Thank you also to Dr. Wronsberg for his care in Horst's final days. Donations to The Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully appreciated by the family. Horst was a widely respected and loved man who will be missed dearly by many. He will be cremated and a ""celebration of his life"" will be held in the spring of 2019 at Horst and Anne's home.
