Mary CURTIS Obituary

CURTIS, Mary Elizabeth (Marie) Passed peacefully surrounded by family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday May 11, 2018, in her 96th year. Faithful wife of the late Donald Charles (Don) Curtis (1998); beloved daughter and eldest child of Robert and Laura (Leyes) Brick, Hamilton; devoted mother of Roberta (David Cesar), Williamsville, N.Y., Mary Margaret (Norman Irving), Halton Hills, and Paul (Dian Wang), Oshawa; adored grandmother of Katie (Andrew Amrhein), Kerry (Jeffrey Byrnes), Meghan and Dr. Brittany Cesar, Sean and Quin Irving, and Bridget Curtis; cherished great-grandmother to Lucy, Freddie, Clara and Dorothy Amrhein, Therese, Rose, Jude, Augustus, Zelie and Philomena Byrnes; survived by her sister Margaret; predeceased by her brother Jack. Marie belonged to numerous bridge clubs, and was an accomplished classically-trained pianist. She also enjoyed reading, travel, swimming, tennis, knitting, solving challenging crossword puzzles, and attending plays/productions/musicals and symphony orchestra concerts.
