Johanna VERHERBRUGGE Obituary

VERHERBRUGGE, Johanna (nee Oostveen, formerly VanderMey) On January 5, 2019, Johanna (Joanne) passed away peacefully in the Netherlands where she has lived for the past 20 years. Mom had many happy memories in the Niagara area, she was a proud school bus driver for many years, and even drove the Niagara Falls double decker tour buses. Mom raised four kids, Marilyn (Ed), Rick (Nancy), Steve, and Jean (Scott), and through them, she enjoyed six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She followed her heart, remarried in 1998, and moved back to the Netherlands, where she gained four more grown children, Jaap (Anneke), Ineke (Johann), Wilco (Monique), and Nico (Annemarie), with even more grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the retired life there and was very happy. Although she endured Alzheimer's disease and other ailments late in her life, there was always a smile and an offer of coffee and a sweet. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Bas, grandson Dylan, and her nine siblings. She leaves us here on earth, but will remain forever in our hearts.
