RYAN, Francis (Frank) Merritt It is with great sadness that the family of Frank Ryan announces his passing on Saturday, February 9, 2019, in his 77th years. After a brief illness, Frank passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie. Beloved husband of Carol and father to children, Mark (Connie), Sherri (Brad), Michael, and stepfather to Katie (Berend) and Brooke. He will be fondly remembered by his 3 grandchildren Amanda (Jeffrey), Myles (Kelly), David (Lauren), and two step grandchildren Ryker and Rayne. He is predeceased by his father Norman Ryan, sister Denise Ryan, and survived by his stepmother Mary 'Nan' Scheff and sister Eleanor Anne (Phillip). Frank was a businessman and owner of Kempview Bowl on Blake Street from 1986 - 2012. He helped to provide the Barrie community with a long-treasured gathering place the was established in 1956. From the YBC youth league to the Parkview Seniors and Sandy Cove leagues, and from children's parties to Rock 'n' Bowl weekends, everyone was warmly welcomed as part of the Kempview Bowl family. While Frank and Kempview Bowl are now gone, many people will forever remember the friendships made and laughs shared at a place where togetherness and kinship were always abundant. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at Bowlerama Barrie, 320 Bayfield Street, on Thursday, February 21st from 5 p.m. - 11 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to once again come together and share fond memories of Frank.
