THOMPSON, John Robert THOMPSON, John Robert

THOMPSON, John Robert It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John at the age of 66. After years of living with Parkinson's, John was unexpectedly taken by cancer. He died surrounded by his family in Kingston on March 7.

John will be deeply missed by his loving wife Lynn and their three sons Sean, Scott and Jordy; his three daughters-in-law Alexandra, Cherie and Tyree; his grandsons Arlo, Tamati, Zephyr and Kaitoa; his brother, the late Tom Thompson, wife Jan and their children Justin and Jennifer; his brother-in-law Jim Swales, wife Nancy and their daughter Alana; and his brother-in-law John Swales, wife Kelly and their children Skylar, Connor and Quincey. John is survived by his mother, Bernice Thompson and his mother-in-law, Fay Swales "Maw".

John will be remembered fondly by the many friends he made throughout his life, including those he met during his early years teaching in northern Manitoba, his 24 year career at SJK School, his retirement years skiing at Sun Peaks and every summer on Georgian Bay.

John enjoyed life and was always quick to make a joke; his humour was infectious.

John's wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest at the cottage on Ozone Island.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church, Midland.

The service will be live streamed at: www.stpaulsmidland.org. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson Canada.
