SYPHER, Eric Harold It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eric, with his loving family at his side on Friday, May 10, 2019. He was in his 86th year. Beloved husband and best friend to Gladys (nee Wintle) for 61 years. Cherished father to Karen (Keith) Pinn, Wendy (Draga) Jichici and Lisa (Antony) Grocott. Special Papa to Trevor (Sarah), Adam (Tina) and Craig Pinn, Karina (Scott) Berendsen, Brynn and Sarah Jichici and Shannon and Davis Grocott. 'Old Pops' to his great-grandchildren Madason, Easton and Leland. Eric will be sadly missed by his siblings Ron (Barbara) Sypher, Doreen (Hector) Leblanc. Predeceased by his brother the late Howard (Beatrice) Sypher and his parents Oscar and Eva (nee Klager) Sypher and his mother and father-in-law Mary and Hulbert Wintle. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. An avid square dancer and sports fan, Eric worked for Welmet Industries for 34 years. In his later years he enjoyed his time as a Crossing Guard at Niagara St. in Welland. In keeping with Eric's wishes cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at PLEASANTVIEW MEMORIAL GARDENS (2250 Hwy. 20 East, Fonthill 905-892-1699) on Saturday, May 25th at 11:30 a.m. followed by an Open House Memorial Reception at The Old Pelham Town Hall (491 Canboro Rd., Ridgeville) from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with tributes beginning at 1:30 p.m. The family requests that everyone wear something blue to represent Eric's favorite colour.
