Beloved father of Rev. Stephen Weber and his wife Janet, Tim Weber and his wife Diane, Tammy Junker and her husband Al, and Krista Schott and her husband Jeff. Eric answered his call to ministry and was ordained in 1957. He began his service at St. Mark's (Washington, Illinois) and Holy Trinity (Chicago, Illinois). Upon his return to Canada in 1966, Eric served at St. Paul's (Cambridge), was assistant to the President of the Eastern Canada Synod, and then returned to parish ministry at St. John's (Waterloo). He also served as chaplain to the Waterloo Fire Department. Visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Eric's life will be held at Trillium Lutheran Church (formerly St. John's Lutheran Church), 22 Willow Street, Waterloo on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred Ludolph presiding and Bishop Michael Pryse preaching. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service. Interment will follow later at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Maynooth, close to the family cottage on Papineau Lake where Eric spent summers from childhood until retirement, when the cottage became Eric's and Kathryn's summer home. Eric often shared many fond memories of cottage life, from the early days with his parents and siblings to the days he spent there in retirement, tending his garden and flowerbeds, baking bread and his famous sticky buns and spending time with the loves of his life - his wife Kathryn, children and grandchildren. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to The Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada or Canadian Lutheran World Relief by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
