MORRONE, Assunta Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Rapelje Lodge on Monday, September 9, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Gaetano. Dear mother of Joe (Julie), Mary (Filippo Rotella), Frances (Tony De Luca) and Sergio (Geri). Proud Nonna of Laura (Paul Sandy), Joseph (Cristina), Diana (Paul Oakley), Josephine (Rory Collins), Joe, Robert (Camillia), Maria (Jay Zwierschke), Tina, Frankie, Marisa and Michael. Great-grandmother of 19. Sister to Gaspare (Ida) and Rita (Salvatore). Also loved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Luigi and Adelina and her brothers Alberico and Antonio and her sister Rachele. Assunta came to Canada with her family in 1966. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Assunta loved to garden, spend time with her family and loved to sing with the Coro Folcoristico. A special thank you to the staff of Rapelje Lodge and Dr. Ali for the wonderful care of our mother. The Morrone family will receive visitors at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME 2000 Merrittville Highway, Thorold on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. Please share your condolences, photos and memories at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca
