Greta HANSEN Obituary

HANSEN, Greta Kofoed Peacefully, at the Glebe Centre in Ottawa on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the age of 91. Beloved mother of Flemming Christensen (Rebecca), Lona Freeborn (Mike Hennessy) and Janice Hansen (Pierre Bussière), and grandmother of Elizabeth (Scott). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her friends from Peterborough and the Salvation Army Home League. During her years in Denmark, Greta (n? Grethe Kofoed Jensen) most enjoyed her rollerskating, weaving large textiles and rugs on giant looms, and summers spent at the beach and summerhouse in Skagen. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1957, and became widely known for her hand-crafted items, her love of bus-tour travels throughout Ontario, and her skills at bowling and cards. She learned to love painting with acrylics during her time at the Glebe Centre in Ottawa, thanks to Patricia D, the wonderful art teacher. In keeping with Greta's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate donations to either of Greta's favourite charities - the Salvation Army, or the Peterborough Humane Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE . Online condolences may be made at www.comstockkaye.com
