William "Ellis" SHELDRICK

SHELDRICK, William "Ellis Peacefully with his family by his side at his home early Monday morning, September 23, 2019 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Rose Sheldrick (nee Amirault). Loving father of Valerie (Neil), Eric (Tracey) and Julie. Proud grandfather of Josh (Amanda), Jessica, Jade, Ryan, Tyson, Taylor, Samuel, Maxwell and Sarah, Lindsay (Justin) Eric and five great-grand- children. Dear brother of Arlene (Fred), Diane and the late Audley (Betty) and brother-in-law to eight siblings in the East Coast, along with many nieces and nephews. His life began with a short stint in the Navy which took him all over the world, and while docked in Halifax met Rose, his wife of 56 years. His trucking career began at the age of 14 with Colbrights Orchards and continued to be his passion until the age of 73. During that time he continued the Sheldrick L&B Sanitation business and explored other ventures. Ellis was very active in the Colborne community from coaching his children's hockey and baseball, organizing the annual Bluegrass festival and traveling the world with the Goodtimers hockey team. Ellis was known for his story telling, joking and always pulling pranks. His infectious smile and laugh will be fondly remembered by all that knew him. Ellis touched many people in his life and always had a special place in his heart for his family. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Colborne from 1-4 p.m. Cremation with private family interment in Lakeport Cemetery will be held a later date.
