Dorothy DECK Obituary

DECK, Dorothy June (nee Cain) Passed away peacefully at Springdale Country Manor, surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 31, 2019, in her 90th year. Dorothy was the cherished wife of the late Allan Deck (2006) and loving step mother of Stephen Deck from Peterborough, Holly Quaiscer and husband Melvin from Calgary and Deborah Bucknell and husband Ian from Waterloo. Dorothy was the loving grandmother of Courtney Deck (Raleigh, North Carolina), Sarah Deck (London), Katie Deck (Ottawa), Ashley Quaiscer (Calgary), Nikole Gnandt (Kevin Gnandt, Calgary), Mara Bucknell (Waterloo) and Victoria Ostapiak (Daniel Ostapiak, Kitchener) and great-grandmother to Ryder Allen Quaiscer (Calgary) and Huxlee Benjamin Ostapiak (Kitchener). She is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Clara Cain (Ferren) of Crystal Lake. Predeceased by first husband Don Andrews. She is predeceased by siblings Agnes (Al), Arlone (Wally), Gladys (Bob), Jean (Ron) and Bob (Marilyn). Dear sister of Bernard (Ann predeceased), Sam (Barb) and Linda (Bob). Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Dorothy worked at General Electric for more than 40 years. In her retirement Dorothy spent time with her family, many friends, extended family in Nova Scotia and at her trailer at the Cain family homestead at Crystal Lake. We love you and miss you Dorothy. Family will receive friends at COMSTOCK KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE , 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains, 411 Reid Street, Peterborough on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Whittington Drive. A Reception will follow at Knights of Columbus in the Bishop Doyle Hall, 317 Hunter St W, Peterborough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains or Springdale Country Manor, or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to ALL staff at Springdale Country Manor for their kindness and wonderful support.
