BENNETT, Kay Frances Winnifred Of Peterborough, Ontario passed away peacefully on December 25, 2019 after a short illness in her 81st year. Born March 21, 1939 in Nipissing Village, Ontario to Joseph and Aimee Busch (nee-Restoule). Baby sister to Susan (George), Barb (Arnie) and Burton (Eileen) all predeceased. Kay met her husband Bill Bennett (Predeceased) on a blind date in North Bay and they were married June 14, 1958. They had three children together: Bill (Kari), Karen (Robert) and Bob (Melanie). Kay devoted her life's work to raising her children and indeed, she was the wind beneath our wings. Mom was the constant in our lives, generously giving of herself right to the end, soothing our pain and sadness. While Kay did work many years at former Westmount Variety, her most cherished work-related benefits were the friends she made with Shirley and dear Linda-her best friend of all. Mom was a good wife, mother and friend - always reaching out to visit her friends or making something creative for them. Mom was a gifted floral artist and we have many of her creations to treasure. Kay's greatest delights were her grandchildren Lindsey (Dan), Zachary (Kayla), Matthew (Stephanie), Nicholas, Meghan (James), Melissa (Zack), Daniel, Samantha, Ashley, and her great grandson Theo. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow… we already miss her presence in our lives, but we are grateful to have many fond memories of Mom at family gatherings, times at camp, her 80th birthday bash and Christmases together to cherish. The Family would like to extend its appreciation to the CVICU staff and Dr. Nanagawa of St. Michael's Hospital, and the Palliative Care staff at PRHC for their excellent and compassionate care. Family and close friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday, January 1st, 2020 from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:00 p.m. at the COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE , 356 Rubidge Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Kawartha food share would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.comstockkaye.com
