WILTON, Donald Cecil (Cec) (Retired Staff Representative with United Steelworkers of America) Quietly, and with a promise that we would be all right without him, Cec Wilton passed away on January 16, 2010. Born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, he carried with him a life long love of Cape Breton, making regular trips "home" to visit family and friends and be comforted by the roar of the ocean. Loving father and kindred spirit to daughter Sherry, adored "Grumps" to grandson Tate and much loved father-in-law to Miles Gripton all of the UK. Beloved companion to Barbara Reeds of Guelph. "Mr Wilson" will be terribly missed by Jenny (Reeds) Potter and how Liz Reeds will get to work is anyone's guess, now that her chauffeur is cruising the fairways in Heaven. Survived by son Robert, Shirley Wilton (mother of Cec's children) both of Guelph, sisters Frances Campbell of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Jeanette Robertson and Agnes Wilton both of Hamilton. Cec was a constant source of entertainment to all who knew him and he charmed and amused many with his tales. He was also an avid golfer and member of Victoria East where he will be greatly missed by his golfing buds. We are grateful to Bayshore Nursing for the care Cec received. We also wish to thank Kelly Caldwell for her kindness, support and "touch of down home" which made the world of difference. Resting at the Gilbert Macintyre and Son Funeral Home,"Dublin Chapel" 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph, where the family will receive friends for memorial visitation on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 (2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.). A Memorial mass will be held Wednesday January 20, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Church, 409 Paisley Road, Guelph at 11 a.m. A vigil for Cec will take place Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
