PATERSON DAVIDSON Bon Vivant Intrepid World Traveller Lover of Life, Friends Family, Golf and Scotch Pat passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 23, 2010 after a two year battle against cancer, fought with the indomitable spirit and unshakeable good humour with which he lived his life. Born March 2nd, 1920 in Old Kilpatrick, Scotland, Pat moved to Canada in 1957 and settled in Markham, Ontario, with his first wife, Eileen, and their three children. An electrical engineer, his work years in Canada were spent at Railway & Power, Canron, and Markham Electric. Pat was blessed with two wonderful marriages. He and Eileen shared 36 years of happiness before her death in 1978. He is survived, and will be sorely missed by Joy Byrnes, his beloved second wife and sparring partner of 30 years, his children, Iain Davidson (Barb), Allan Davidson (Luz) and Anna Davidson Colbourne (Denis), and stepchildren, Leslie Byrnes (Michael Dawson), Jan Byrnes (Bob Leadbeater) and David Byrnes, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Nettie of Arrochar, Scotland. A wide circle of friends who enjoyed his charm, intellectual curiosity and warm wit, will also find a large void in their lives. In keeping with Pat`s wishes, friends and family are invited to "Pat's Party" to raise a glass to love and laughter on Friday, February 5th, at The Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Road East, Guelph between 2 and 5 p.m. If desired, please send donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
