    LAKING, "Jack" It is with heavy hearts the family of J.T. "Jack" Laking would like to announce his passing on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Jack was born on November 24, 1928 to Gertrude and Robert Laking on the family farm in Nassagaweya Township. He worked near and far for 42 years beginning at CP Rail at the age of 15. During the early 50's to the early 60's Jack was a member of the Campbellville Intermediate Baseball team responsible for winning many Ontario League Championships. The 60's, 70's, and 80's had Jack raising purebred Angus Cattle at Badenoch Farms. Jack was also a valued member of the KW Police Choir for 10 years and also #1 bus driver for the Jr. "B" Winterhawks during the 80's and 90's. In his most recent years, Jack could be found in many rinks supporting the Roadrunners, Sabers, and most recently the X-Women. Jack is survived by his loving wife Margaret (nee Thomson), brothers Ross and Bill, sons David and Douglas (Debbie), grandchildren Abygail, Maizie, Dax, and Dakota. At Jack's request, Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends and guests for a time of Celebration of Jack's life at the BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME , 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. If desired, donations in Jack's memory to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or the charity of your choice.
