BYRON, Arthur Nevin Passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on October 28, 2011, at the age of 88, survived by his loving wife Alice Jean of 62 years, sister Elizabeth, children Kathy Chapman with her husband Brian and Robert with his wife Nancy Snider, as well as grandchildren Lisa, Simon and Jeffery Snider-Nevin. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of New Brunswick, completed theological training at Knox College, Toronto and subsequently spent his working life in the service of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ as a tireless and deeply compassionate pastor with the Presbyterian Church in Canada at Oxford and Pugwash, Nova Scotia (1949-52), Woodstock, New Brunswick (1952-57), Boston and Omaugh (Milton), Ontario (1957-64), Sudbury, Ontario (1964-67), Ancaster and Alberton, Ontario (1967-85) and Atwood, Ontario (1985-90). While in Ancaster he was the recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's award for community service and out of a keen interest in social justice was one of the original movers of Ten Days for World Development. In his retirement he has been Minister Emeritus at Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Ancaster and Alberton Presbyterian Church in Alberton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12, 11 A.M. at Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sulphur Springs Road, Ancaster. Donations may be made in his name to the Canadian Bible Society or the Christian Children's Fund.
